Author EDITH MAYER CORD discusses her childhood and adolescence as a Vieneese girl growing up againdt the backdrop of the Great Depression, the rise of Nazism, World War II, and the religious persectuions of Jews throughout Europe. Copies of FINDING EDITH: SURVIVING THE HOLOCAUST IN PLAIN SIGHT will be on sale at book signing following the program.

Keynote Speaker

Edith has been a Keynote Speaker for the Social Security Administration, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and for soldiers at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. ​She was the commencement speaker at Damascus High School in 2009.


Speaking in schools

Edith has been a featured speaker in middle schools, high schools, and colleges throughout the Baltimore and Washington DC region. Edith has spoken often for classes at Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland Baltimore County; Mount de Sales Academy....Edith has appeared at schools on behalf of The Baltimore Jewish Council and its Holocaust Programs.

Speaking for religious & private institutions

    Edith has been speaking for many years at churches and synagogues in MD, VA, and PA including York Synagogue in York, PA, Unitarian Universalist Church in Indiana, PA, St. Mary's Seminary & Ecumenical Center in Baltimore, MD. 

    Edith has spoken at the local Rotary Club in Ellicott City, MD. As a member of MENSA, Edith has presented lectures on many topics to various MENSA gatherings including for her local Maryland MENSA meetings as well as at the Northern Virginia Regional Mensa gatherings and the annual national gathering of American MENSA.

Book signings at Libraries & Museums

Following the publication of her book, Edith has been invited for book signings and speaking including frequent appearances at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC as well as at Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore, MD, the Main Library in Columbia, MD, Indiana Jimmy Stewart Library in Indiana, PA.
